BRITTA RETTBERG is pleased to present a duo show by London based Irish artist Laura Ní Fhlaibhín (BRITTA RETTBERG) and New York based Indigenous Californian (Maidu/Modoc) artist Tyler Eash (Nicoletti London) on the occasion of Various Others 2026. Drawing from their years of friendship that started at Goldsmiths, University of London, the two find common concerns and agendas; commonalities in anglo-colonial oppression and a return to Indigenous worldviews. The exhibition “breaking / briseadh / wa’aidom” is rooted in the politics of their ancestors, a solidarity that has existed between Irish and Native people and their animal, plant, mineral and spirit kin. The alliances interwoven in the artists’ works for this exhibition are acts of agential mourning, remembering and exhuming their ancestral ghosts.

BRITTA RETTBERG präsentiert im Rahmen von Various Others 2026 eine Doppelausstellung der in London lebenden irischen Künstlerin Laura Ní Fhlaibhín (BRITTA RETTBERG) und des in New York lebenden indigenen kalifornischen (Maidu/Modoc) Künstlers Tyler Eash (Nicoletti London). Ausgehend von ihrer langjährigen Freundschaft, die an der Goldsmiths, University of London, begann, finden die beiden gemeinsame Anliegen und Ziele: Gemeinsamkeiten in der anglokolonialen Unterdrückung und eine Rückkehr zu indigenen Weltanschauungen. Die Ausstellung „breaking / briseadh / wa’aidom” ist verwurzelt in der Politik ihrer Vorfahren, einer Solidarität, die zwischen Irland und Native America sowie ihren tierischen, pflanzlichen, mineralischen und spirituellen Verwandten besteht. Die Allianzen, die sich in den Werken der KünstlerInnen widerspiegeln, sind Akte des aktiven Trauerns, Erinnerns und Exhumierens ihrer Ahnengeister.
